A workshop at the Ban Phra Phim Learning Center dedicated to the traditional creation of Sukhothai Buddhist amulets, offered through Travel Thailand Creation. Participants discover the history, meaning and cultural value of ancient clay amulets and personally make one while learning the different stages of the process: preparing the clay, pressing it into traditional moulds, removing the piece and learning about the firing techniques. Local artisans guide the activity while sharing stories about Sukhothai, Buddhist art and traditional craftsmanship.
The workshop is led by artisans at the Ban Phra Phim Learning Center in Sukhothai Old Town, who teach each stage of the amulet-making process and share stories about Sukhothai and Buddhist art.
