Terms & Conditions

These Terms govern your access to and use of the Localty platform. By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and [Company Legal Name] (“Localty”, “we”, “us”). They apply to travelers, partners, and all visitors of the Platform. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. User accounts

  • You must provide accurate information and keep your account details up to date.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account.
  • You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to create an account.
  • Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

3. Roles & eligibility

Localty supports three account roles, each with different permissions:

  • Traveler — browse and request experiences and participate in the rewards program.
  • Partner — list and manage community-based experiences, subject to verification.
  • Administrator — Localty staff who review applications, verify partners, and manage the Platform.

Role changes (such as becoming a Partner) require an application and approval by Localty.

4. Bookings & experiences

  • Booking requests are submitted through the Platform and confirmed subject to partner availability.
  • Localty facilitates connections between travelers and local partners; partners are responsible for delivering the experiences.
  • Prices, inclusions, cancellation terms, and any local requirements are described on each experience listing.
  • You agree to respect local customs, laws, and the communities you visit.

5. Rewards program rules

The Localty rewards program lets travelers earn and redeem points. The following rules apply:

  • Points are earned by completing eligible actions such as confirmed bookings and verified reviews.
  • Points have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and are not redeemable for cash.
  • Points and tier status may expire after a period of account inactivity, as communicated in the Platform.
  • Tiers unlock benefits described on the Rewards page; benefits may change over time.
  • We may adjust, withhold, or revoke points obtained through error, fraud, or violation of these Terms.
  • We may modify or discontinue the program with reasonable notice; accrued points may be redeemable for a limited period after any discontinuation.

6. Verification & Focus Badges

Localty operates a proprietary Multi-Level Verification System (MLVS), comprising a partner Self-Assessment, an independent On-Site Verification by a Localty verifier, structured Evidence Collection (observations, photos, interviews and supporting documents), and optional Traveller Verification Contributions supporting future reassessments. Based on this process, each verified experience receives a single Localty Focus Badge — Environmental, Cultural or Community — representing its highest-scoring dimension.

  • The Focus Badge reflects the primary strength identified at a point in time and may be updated or removed after reassessment.
  • Partners must provide accurate information and maintain the practices reflected in their Experience Profile.
  • The Focus Badge is not a certification and is not a ranking against other experiences.
  • Recognised third-party sustainability certifications, when present, are displayed separately from the Localty Focus Badge.

7. Partner responsibilities

  • Provide truthful, complete information during onboarding and verification.
  • Deliver experiences as described, with appropriate care, safety, and legal compliance.
  • Hold any licenses, permits, and insurance required in your jurisdiction.
  • Treat travelers and community members fairly and respectfully.
  • Operate consistently with the practices reflected in your verified Experience Profile.
  • Respond to booking requests and traveler communications in a timely manner.

Partners act as independent providers, not employees or agents of Localty, and are responsible for their own experiences and obligations.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purposes.
  • Post false, misleading, or abusive content, including fake reviews.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
  • Interfere with the operation or security of the Platform.

9. Intellectual property

The Platform, including its design, content, the Localty name, logo, and the Multi-Layer Verification System, is owned by Localty or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it without permission. You retain rights to content you submit but grant Localty a license to use it to operate and promote the Platform.

10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Platform is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, Localty is not liable for the acts or omissions of partners or third parties, or for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.

11. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, harm other users, or pose security or legal risks. You may close your account at any time. Some provisions survive termination, including intellectual property, liability, and governing law.

12. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Governing Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be subject to the courts of [Competent Courts], subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Platform or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
