Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Localty, CVR 46507002, with its registered office in Copenhagen, Denmark (“Localty”, “we”, “us”). They apply to travelers, partners, and all visitors of the Platform. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

• You must provide accurate information and keep your account details up to date.
• You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account.
• You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to create an account.
• Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

Localty supports three account roles, each with different permissions:

• Traveler — browse and request experiences and participate in the rewards program.
• Partner — list and manage community-based experiences, subject to verification.
• Administrator — Localty staff who review applications, verify partners, and manage the Platform.

Role changes (such as becoming a Partner) require an application and approval by Localty.

• Booking requests are submitted through the Platform and confirmed subject to partner availability.
• Localty facilitates connections between travelers and local partners; partners are responsible for delivering the experiences.
• Where a separate price is marked ‘Coming soon’, that price has not yet been supplied. The applicable price, inclusions, supplier identity and cancellation terms must be provided before you enter into a binding booking.
• You agree to respect local customs, laws, and the communities you visit.

Some experiences include an overnight stay with activities, arranged by the local partner. These experiences are currently shown for information only and marked ‘Bookings opening soon’; they cannot yet be booked through Localty. Prices shown are the full price per person.

This payment arrangement does not, by itself, determine the legal classification of a booking. Classification depends on how services for the same trip are offered, selected and contracted.

A combination of accommodation and an activity may fall within these rules where the activity represents a significant share of the combined value, is advertised as an essential feature of the trip, or otherwise constitutes an essential feature. An activity below 25% of the combined value is not automatically excluded.

Linked travel arrangements may arise where a trader facilitates separate selection and payment for different travel services during a single visit or contact, or facilitates a targeted purchase from another trader and that second contract is concluded within 24 hours after confirmation of the first booking. The 24-hour condition applies to the targeted second-purchase route; it is not a general exemption for other booking journeys. Certain linked online bookings involving the transmission of traveller details may instead constitute a package.

Where linked travel arrangement rules apply, the applicable statutory standard information form must be provided before you become bound, including information about supplier responsibilities and the applicable insolvency protection. Package bookings are subject to their own information, responsibility and protection requirements. This section does not replace either statutory notice or confirm that a particular booking is covered by an insolvency-protection scheme.

Nothing in these Terms excludes mandatory rights under applicable EU or Danish travel law. Describing Localty as an intermediary does not override responsibilities imposed by that law. See Directive (EU) 2015/2302 and the Danish package travel and linked travel arrangements law.

The Localty rewards program lets travelers earn and redeem points. The following rules apply:

• Points are earned by completing eligible actions such as confirmed bookings and verified reviews.
• Points have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and are not redeemable for cash.
• Points and tier status may expire after a period of account inactivity, as communicated in the Platform.
• Tiers unlock benefits described on the Rewards page; benefits may change over time.
• We may adjust, withhold, or revoke points obtained through error, fraud, or violation of these Terms.
• We may modify or discontinue the program with reasonable notice; accrued points may be redeemable for a limited period after any discontinuation.

Localty operates a proprietary Multi-Level Verification System (MLVS), comprising a partner Self-Assessment, an independent On-Site Verification by a Localty verifier, structured Evidence Collection (observations, photos, interviews and supporting documents), and optional Traveller Verification Contributions supporting future reassessments. Based on this process, each verified experience shows a single Experience Focus — Environmental, Cultural or Community — identifying the dimension most strongly represented by the verified information collected during the assessment.

• The Experience Focus reflects information collected at a point in time and may be updated or removed after reassessment.
• Partners must provide accurate information and maintain the practices reflected in their Localty Transparency Profile.
• The Experience Focus is not a sustainability certification or rating, and is not a ranking against other experiences.
• Third-party certifications held by a partner, when present, are displayed as separate factual information and do not form part of the Experience Focus.

• Provide truthful, complete information during onboarding and verification.
• Deliver experiences as described, with appropriate care, safety, and legal compliance.
• Hold any licenses, permits, and insurance required in your jurisdiction.
• Treat travelers and community members fairly and respectfully.
• Operate consistently with the practices reflected in your verified Localty Transparency Profile.
• Respond to booking requests and traveler communications in a timely manner.

Partners act as independent providers, not employees or agents of Localty, and are responsible for their own experiences and obligations.

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purposes.
• Post false, misleading, or abusive content, including fake reviews.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data.
• Interfere with the operation or security of the Platform.

The Platform, including its design, content, the Localty name, logo, and the Multi-Layer Verification System, is owned by Localty or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it without permission. You retain rights to content you submit but grant Localty a license to use it to operate and promote the Platform.

The Platform is provided “as is.” To the extent permitted by law, Localty is not liable for the acts or omissions of partners or third parties, or for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including your statutory consumer rights.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, harm other users, or pose security or legal risks. You may close your account at any time. Some provisions survive termination, including intellectual property, liability, and governing law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Governing Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes will be subject to the courts of [Competent Courts], subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Platform or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
