The MLVS process
Evidence is collected through observations, photos, interviews and supporting documents. Profiles may be updated after reassessment or after structured contributions from travellers who visited the experience.
What the profile covers
How the experience relates to nature, resources, waste and wildlife.
How local traditions, heritage and community values are engaged and preserved.
How local people are involved in, employed by and benefit from the experience.
Localty Focus Badge
Every verified experience displays a single Localty Focus Badge with the highest-scoring dimension of the MLVS. It highlights what the experience does best.
Highlighted when strong environmental practices are observed on site.
Highlighted when the experience meaningfully preserves cultural heritage.
Highlighted when local people are meaningfully involved and benefit.
Sustainability certifications the business already holds from recognised organisations appear in a dedicated Recognised Sustainability Certifications section on the Experience Profile — a separate signal from the Localty Focus Badge.
